The Palace Project

The Palace Project is a collection of more than 46,000 openly licensed titles available in high-quality epub format. The collection includes classics, contemporary fiction, nonfiction, children’s books, and textbooks, all reviewed by the DPLA Curation Corps of volunteer librarians. Add other California Library cards and access more digital materials. 

Download the app from the App Store or Google Play by searching for The Palace Project, or browse and read from the library's catalog all within your browser window.

To use the Palace Project online catalog:

  1. Click on “Sign In”
  2. Enter your Library Card Number and PIN, then click “Login”
  3. Browse or search for an item to checkout
  4. Click on “Borrow this book” to checkout or “Reserve this book” to place on hold
  5. Click “Read Online” to read in the browser or find your library in the Palace app on your mobile device (see above) to read in app
  6. To see all items checked out and on hold in the web catalog, go to the “My Books” tab
